It is not known who made the first 'Søm'.
The seam is now a term for a long-throwing coastal lure similar to a sandeel, with one flat side and the other side being outwardly curved or convex. The Sømmet is very long-casting and extremely effective at catching. Although the Sømmet is a powerful casting machine, the lure can easily be fished at a suitable slow pace, with its rocking motion like a sandeel or an eel puffer.
It is truly an excellent pass-through flash where you still maintain a good feel with the flash, even with big waves. The Sømmet and other through-the-loop flashes and wobblers from Westin are equipped with a thin Teflon tube inside, which protects your lead line. We carry Westin's Sømmet in 22 g., which is an excellent all-round weight class for the Danish coasts.
